Bill Evans Trio - Portrait In Jazz
Released in 1960, Portrait In Jazz marks the third album from renowned jazz pianist Bill Evans as a leader. This significant LP features the exceptional collaboration between Evans and bassist Scott LaFaro, showcasing their remarkable synergy throughout the record. Notably, this album does not include any solo piano selections, presenting the trio in its entirety instead.
The album opens with a captivating performance that sets the tone for the rest of the record, highlighting the innovative interplay between the trio members. This collaboration would later culminate in their celebrated recordings at the Village Vanguard in June 1961, just before LaFaro's untimely passing.
Available on high-quality 180-gram virgin vinyl, this limited edition reissue of Portrait In Jazz captures the essence of a pivotal moment in jazz history, making it a must-have for enthusiasts of the genre.
